New versions of Firefox and Thunderbird - and entertainment!
New versions of Firefox and Thunderbird - the Open Source replacements
for Internet Explorer and Outlook - are now available for you to
install. And an appropriate animation for all you out there who get spam (and who doesn't?)
Here are the links:
Firefox 1.06
Thunderbird 1.06
These fix a couple of minor bugs but they also include all the security
updates in past versions.
If you're not using these excellent tools, why not? They're easy to install, work well, and are not nearly as vulnerable to the "bad uglies" out there taking over your machine with nasty surprises as the Microsoft functions they replace.
"Thunderbird gives you a faster, safer, and more productive email
experience. We designed Thunderbird to prevent viruses and to stop junk
mail so you can get back to reading your mail. Read on to find out more
about the reasons why you should use Thunderbird as your mail client and
RSS reader."
“Beware of spyware. If you can, use the Firefox browser.” - USA Today
“Better than Internet Explorer by leaps and bounds.” - FORBES
“If you've lately taken to cursing at your current e-mail program, then
I suggest you give Thunderbird a try. It's the best thing to happen to
e-mail in a long time.”
- Forbes
'nuff said.
I was just about to hit "send" on the above when this e-mail popped into my in-basket from one of my customers, Vince Hemingson of Vanishing Tattoo ( best Tattoo web site on the net)
I have to say that I couldn't wait to send it on, so you get a double dose of news today. It's done in FLASH which should play just fine on Firefox (you can wait until you've installed Firefox 1.06 if you want)
