Thunderbird 1.5 E-mail/News/Podcasts/RSS reader now available

To all those of you I've convinced to move to reading e-mail via Thunderbird - and to all you I have not yet convinced (and why not?)

The latest version of Thunderbird is now out and available for (free as usual) download from Mozilla.org/thunderbird/

There are so many vulnerabilities and problems with the use of Outlook and Outlook express that can reach out and byte you that you should definitely consider switching.

While we're on the subject of e-mail, there is a new attachment name "message.zip" showing up as "Secure Message from HotMail.com user" subject. This is a virus that is not dealt with by most anti-virus software yet. See the notification at Internet Storm Center

Note that Thunderbird does not execute any e-mail attachment without first asking you for confirmation - ever!
